AMSOIL extended intervals will not void warranties.
Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the FTC prohibits any manufacturer from voiding warranties by the use of aftermarket parts and maintenance. It clearly states "a warrantor cannot, as a matter of law, avoid liability under a written warranty where a defect is unrelated to the use by a consumer of ‘‘unauthorized’’ articles or service."

As long as you follow AMSOIL service life recommendation or use a oil analysis program you are covered additionaly by AMSOIL's warranty.

Need a 5W20? Our 5W20 is the lowest priced AMSOIL synthetic motor oil product. But a warranty cannot be voided if you use another viscosity. As long as the oil meets current API SL you can use whatever you please. Besides, our regular synthetic 5W30 is much more energy efficient than the 5W20 you buy of the shelf somewhere else, but yes - we have a great low cost 5W20. See "Engine Oils" in the products section.

When AMSOIL INC. introduced the first 100 percent synthetic motor oil to pass American Petroleum Institute (API) service requirements in 1972, it set all new standards for quality and performance in the world of automotive lubrication. However AMSOIL synthetic motor oils were ahead of their time. At first, vehicle manufactures and customers did not know what to think. Could this new synthetic motor oil really outperform the petroleum products they had been using all their lives? What followed was a lot of confusion over warranty coverage. Many unsure manufactures and dealers told customers that use of synthetic lubricants could void their vehicle warranties.

How does AMSOIL compare to Motul or Royal Purple? - Take a look at our Motorcycle oil study to know how they compare there which reflects highly on the overall quality of a product.

Look at our test results in the motorcycle oil study and see how each player has generally one or two strong points but fail in several others when compared to AMSOIL. Get the facts! Why haven't they put our products to the test? Because they know AMSOIL is #1 and they admit it. Our existing customers know because of the performance results. That is the primary concern. See the study here.

AMSOIL Vice President Alan Amatuzio predicts Yamalube (one of the worst performing products - so bad we don't think Yamaha knows) will see this and get their product up to spec in about 2-years. "We see this happen all the time such as the time we put Valvoline in a study where they didn't even meet the specifications they had printed on their products. We caught them and they fixed it after we exposed them."

Mobil 1 Comparisons - When buying a synthetic engine oil, our customers all have different motivations for wanting to use AMSOIL. Rather than dwell on the test results, I think the actual benefits our customers see are more important. Although you can see the tests beat them, what the customers notice is much more important such as smoother engines, lower temperatures, extraordinary performance (which is how I first started using AMSOIL), gained fuel mileage and in engines with more wear and miles I get a call each week telling me about the reduction of oil use.

I've had a lot of calls where the customer was reluctant to use another synthetic because he never used (engine consumed) oil until he used Mobil 1. The question I get is, "Is this oil going to use as much or more?"
The answer is less and will reduce emissions at the same time.

I can't tell you how many times motorcycle customers have called concerned with poor clutch performance using Mobil products. With AMSOIL - run of the mill performance is not part of the equation.
Also Mobil 1 is primarily motor oil where AMSOIL is synthetic solutions for all your problems whether it be for your motorcycle, differential, open gears, compressors, or even an exotic 2-cycle engine your life depends on.

API Lowers the Bar
A recent story in the September Lubes 'N' Greases magazine illustrates how the API may be expanding the definition of which products may be labeled as 'Synthetic' to possibly include Group II base stocks. Most labeled as synthetic blends use as little as 10% of the synthetic component and the performance shows. Those products are far over-priced. Rest assures that when purchasing AMSOIL PAO based Group VI products you never have to worry about quality. Just after your first use you will know AMSOIL is at the top. After all, AMSOIL's the innovator. There is so much more to know.

How likely will my motor oil cause a problem?

AMSOIL products clearly offer better wear protection than competitive synthetics and much better protection than conventional oils. Engines can fail due to mechanical problems even when using AMSOIL. AMSOIL Motor Oils, however, in over thirty years have never caused an engine failure. If you ever hear someone say AMSOIL caused their engine, bearings, pistons, etc. to fail, they're wrong.

Federal Mogul Corporation, a manufacturer of engine bearings, pistons, connecting rods and other engine parts, studied over 7,000 case histories of bearing distress and engine failure and never found engine oil to be the cause of a failure. Dirt, the number one cause of engine failure, was found to be responsible for 43.4% of failures, and insufficient lubrication, the second most common cause of failure, was responsible for 16.6% of failures. Insufficient lubrication is the general term used when not enough oil gets through to the engine to lubricate it (lack of oil volume).

Some causes of insufficient lubrication include oxidation, oil thickening, sludge, cold temperature related dry starts, etc. These, however, are also areas where AMSOIL motor oils out perform the competition. The use of AMSOIL products eliminates many of the common causes of these failures. If an engine breaks down with AMSOIL motor oil in it, it would have broken down sooner using another oil! That's fact!

A new 5 page article in the industry magazine, "Lubes 'n' Greases" which exposes the motor oil industry regarding it's shackling of US consumers, but points out only - "AMSOIL, The worlds largest independent manufacturer of synthetic engine oil, stakes its reputation on longer drain intervals (up to 35,000 miles) and backs it up with a full replacement engine warranty." -states David McFall - Automotive writer for Lubes 'n' Greases. He goes on to state, "Moreover, it has done so for three decades without a single proven case of engine related failure in an engine covered by its warranty."

Using AMSOIL in your Gasoline Engine

For 35 years AMSOIL has kept this procedure pretty simple thanks to the quality of the oil and filters.
It's always best to refer to the product data sheet's "Service Life" or product description so you know the exact recommendation as this varies from product to product and whether it's a turbocharged, work engine, lawn equipment, marine, motorcycle or any other type. This is also simplified by using our new "Interval Guide". This new chart which I add to all catalog requests helps you decide which engine, transmission and filter to use and the proper duration.

For general gasoline passenger vehicles and trucks AMSOIL recommends 25,000 mile intervals or one year, whichever comes first when using our main 100% synthetic engine oils such as the ASL 5W30 , ATM 10W30, New 0W20, AMO, and TSO. Our oil filters are designed to last 25,000 miles or 1-year, so for one oil change it's simple. Order two oil filters and a case. That's basically all you need for two years of oil changes.

For your first change to AMSOIL we recommend a can of engine flush too.

What products do I need for my vehicle?

I recommend using AMSOIL's product and filter application guide. This is a fast and easy lookup system and lists all suggested products. Of course, if you have questions or want to use something else, please call or email us directly at 1-800-579-0580.

To continue to reduce costs, temperatures, downtime and improve performance, consider our ATF, gear lubes and fuel injector cleaner. For colder climates or heavy loads, our ATF will significantly improve transmission performance while lasting up to three times longer than the manufacturers suggested interval.

To get the optimum gas mileage in your vehicle I suggest the following (gas engines):
AMSOIL Synthetic 5W30 ASL, 0W30 TSO or 10W30 ATM.
AMSOIL PI fuel injector cleaner/performance improver concentrate. - This product surprises a lot of customers and you only need it every 4000 miles.
Use the ATF for automatic transmissions and the MTF 5W30 or MTG 75W90 for manual units per OEM specifications. I recently tested the MTF and gained up to two MPG's on a 1400 mile trip. Our customer data shows the ATF significantly increases mileage under load and in extreme high and low temperature situations.
Check your tire pressure. Increasing pressure 2 or 3 pounds can improve mileage and handling significantly.
Reduce your average speed on the highway. In a some cases all of the above could add up to 50 or more miles per tank.

For diesel engines you can also safely extend service intervals - quite a bit actually, but we recommend oil analysis for fleets. Our 15W40 AME Heavy Duty Diesel is guaranteed to last 25,000 miles in light duty turbo diesels such as the 5.9 Dodge Cummins.
Please revert to the interval chart or product data sheets but know when using analysis many customers generally double their intervals, especially with the great Donaldson filters available. Our diesel products save owners hundreds of dollars!

You also want to try the AMSOIL Diesel fuel additive. This fuel additive solves several problems.

Fuel sulfur regulation began in October of 1993, decreasing from 5,000 ppm to 500 ppm in order to meet 1994 particulate regulations.
In order to meet 2007 particulate regulations, 15 ppm ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) was implemented June 2006. While reducing the level of sulfur in diesel fuel effectively reduces emissions and soot, it also reduces lubricity, increasing wear on fuel pumps and injectors, increases the acidic nature of the combustion process and leaves harmful deposits reducing injector flow significantly. AMSOIL Diesel Fuel Additive Concentrate (ADF) effectively restores lubricity, to protect pumps and injectors from wear. In addition, Diesel Fuel Additive Concentrate effectively reduces emissions and provides outstanding fuel system cleanliness and corrosion and sludge inhibition.

• Improves fuel economy
• Increases fuel stability
• Improves cold fuel flow
• Controls injector wear
• Extends fuel pump and injector life
• Reduces emissions
• Improves cold startability

With all vehicles you can reduce oil purchases even more with our simple to use bypass filtration systems (Partial flow or parasitic filtration) and your vehicle will last even longer while you enjoy less wear with filters and analysis to protect your investment.

AMSOIL and National Security
AMSOIL's drivetrain products protect vehicles under warranty even with extended intervals. If you go from 3000 mile intervals to 25,000 mile intervals on engine oil, extend transmission intervals 3X while virtually eliminating (automatic) transmission failure not only do you save $ but you are doing your part to reduce the need for foreign oil significantly.

One car driving 25,000 miles a year over 5 years considering the engine capacity of 5 quarts and transmission oil of 10 quarts (Automatic) generally saves about 202.5 quarts of oil in that 5-year period. So a 1,000,000 vehicle population of a large metroplex will reduce lubricant oil dependence thanks to AMSOIL 100% synthetics by 50,600,000 gallons in 5 years..

Add in the average of 5% savings on fuel using AMSOIL lubricants and fuel additives and if you change your driving habits moderately by driving at posted speed limits on the interstate keeping a cap of 65 MPH you could save another 15%. So someone who uses 40 gallons per week will reduce their need for gasoline by 8-gallons. Multiply out a year that is a savings of 416 gallons. Assuming 1/2 the people in Texas fit this profile of 40 gallons per week and adapted this principle - that is 23 Million population - half of that would have the effect to save about 4.7 billion gallons of gas in that state alone every year.

Someone who thinks about their country first over their own personal needs may in addition to the above find additional ways to reduce energy demands and then we have the solution to the price gouging and future taxes which are about to come about thanks to your friendly auto manufactures and senators. (Don't believe it? Take a look at this article by a favorite trusted source)

AMSOIL is one tool to help you live more independently and get off the grid. Unfortunately we had the products and safe storage tank technology available to power our cars 100% with Hydrogen gas. The Consumer protection agency stepped in and is now preventing us from purchasing the materials needed to separate Hydrogen from natural gas for this cheap energy source protecting the future of dependence of foreign oils and the expensive and unnecessary "Hydrogen fuel cells".

Just like any other product in our free enterprise system, if we work together to reduce the need for petroleum products the price will drop and you save your hard earned dollars. St. Louis commuters can stick it to the man with AMSOIL. You can start today. See our list of how you can reduce your dependence on foreign oil.

Clean - Maintain internal cleanliness by suspending contaminants or keeping contaminants from adhering to components. Critical function for used vehicles where you don't know about the maintenance performed or newer engines which operate at higher temperatures. AMSOIL is known for the higher degree of detergents and TBN designed for extended durations.

Cool moving elements - Reducing friction will reduce the amount of heat that is generated, which will lower the operating temperature of the element or component. We also rely on the lubricant to absorb heat from the contact surface area and transport it to a location in which it can be safely dissipated. Count on AMSOIL to reduce temperatures over your current selection. You may be more than surprised of the reduction under load.

Prevent contamination (seal) - We rely on the lubricant to act as a dynamic seal in locations such as the piston, piston ring and cylinder contact areas. This minimizes combustion by-products (for example) from contaminating the lubrication system. We also rely on the lubricant to support mechanical seals found elsewhere, minimizing external contamination and fluid loss. AMSOIL Synthetic Lubricants and industrial oils excel in Carbon Formation Resistance , Antifoam, Demulsibility and Hydrolytic stability. Other brands fail here. Do your own analysis.

Dampen shock - A lubricant may be required to cushion the blow of mechanical shock. A lubricant film can absorb and disperse these energy spikes over a broader contact area. This is AMSOIL's most remarked on attribute. Our large vehicle and motorcycle customers frequently comment on noise and vibration reduction especially when compared to more expensive synthetic products.

Prevent corrosion - A lubricant must have the ability to prevent or minimize internal component corrosion. This can be accomplished either by chemically neutralizing the corrosive products or by setting up a barrier between the components and the corrosive material. Typically, expensive racing oils fail here. This is not built in. Take a look through our product listings and see how AMSOIL protects over the competition, most offering zero rust protection. This includes transmission fluids, coolants, compressor oils, motorcycle oils and more.

Transfer energy - A lubricant may be required to act as an energy transfer median as in the case of hydraulic equipment or an automatic transmission. AMSOIL's ATH tractor - hydraulic does an excellent job with this just based on the reduced temperature feedback from farmers, cement companies, and mower users. More than significant winter performance.

Bobby Unser - Long time user of the best! - AMSOIL
Bobby Unser explained to us recently how AMSOIL was responsible for the complete absence in gear box related failures. "When you walked in the garage you may have seen a container labeled as Valvoline, Texaco or whoever the sponsor was but that's not what was in the bottle, It was AMSOIL" - Bobby Unser Sr in the new "A.J. Amatuzio - An American Success Story (the 1.5 hour film on the history of AMSOIL).

"Every single synthetic oil company today copied AMSOIL! They Copied AMSOIL! But they will never have the quality and performance AMSOIL has because they can't" - Bobby Unser Sr.

12 Ways To Help Reduce Our Dependence On Foreign Oil and effect demand on fuel. (Investors in the futures market are the real reason for the sudden May 2007 increase in prices) Just by reducing your highway speeds to 65 MPH will cause a supply which will cause the fools who bet against you to go bankrupt! Which is more enjoyable: reaching your destination in a hurry or sitting backing knowing you stuck it to those who screwed you over in the first place?

  1. Pay attention to how you drive.
Don’t exceed highway speed limits. Use moderate-to-easy acceleration. Gas mileage is negatively affected by fast acceleration and fast deceleration.

If the speed limit is 75 drive 65 or 70. That alone is proven to reduce fuel use overall by 15%. We could end the fuel problems tomorrow if only people would reduce their highway speeds reducing drag. Both Bill Oreilly and Ed Wallace mention this on their radio shows every week.
Most people encourage cruise control use to save gas but you can do better. When you approach an incline, decelerate slightly, as cruise control will accelerate and overcompensate with it's hysterisis setting. Maintaining a constant speed helps reduce fuel consumption but as load increases on hills backing off 2 to 3 MPH as you incline will save you up to 5 miles per gallon in some cases and 10 MPG if you accelerate more on the downhill and then allow your speed to drop 10 to 15 on the climb. I have tested this. You can then accelerate or use inertia to gain back your speed after the incline levels off as you go down hill again. I learned this from many "Econo Run" events.
  2. Engine maintenance
Maintain a properly tuned engine. Dirty spark plugs do not create the maximum spark and cause reduced horsepower and increased emissions. Using AMSOIL bumper to bumper will greatly reduce the need for future repairs simplifying the process. Less heat = less systems degradation.
  3. Limit reliance on air conditioning
Limit use of air conditioning, especially during hot summer days. Yes, we know it’s not as comfortable but the issue here is saving gas. Remember the cars from the 60's? they had those great floor and window vents.
Currently I recommend turning off the A/C switch at red lights giving the power to the engine during acceleration. then once 30MPH is reached, switch it back on to keep torque at the wheels during the motors most inefficient state - accelerating. You never loose from aerodynamics because the windows are closed.
  4. Synthetic lubricants
Switch to synthetic motor oil and drivetrain lubricants. Independent tests show savings of five to eight percent using AMSOIL synthetic motor oil, gear lubes and ATF. AMSOIL ATF and MTF gear lubes seem to be most significant from my own research. While AMSOIL advertises a general 2% increase with just motor oil alone several of our customers have noticed as much as a 12% increase in mileage to later become dealers.
  5. Air filter
Install clean air filter as needed. To get optimal efficiency from your engine, it has to breathe. AMSOIL Absolute efficiency is the best for your dollar.
  6. Aerodynamics
Keep windows rolled up at speeds over 40 mph. Open windows when driving over 40 mph can create a wind drag that will lower your mileage. Avoid use of roof rack. Reduce aerodynamic drag and improve your fuel economy by placing items inside the trunk whenever possible. Sun roofs also disturb smooth aerodynamic air flow and reduce mileage. Avoid high profile wheels and tires. Compare tire weights when shopping for new tires. The less you spend on a tire the more it will cost you on fuel.
  7. Tire Maintenance
Properly inflate your tires. (most overlooked step) Keep tires balanced and rotated regularly. Keep front-end aligned for better mileage and longer tire life. Know what the maximum PSI rating is. I recommend a couple more PSI than the average "comfort" setting. My tires have a max of 45 PSI and the manufacturer recommends 31 PSI. I set mine to 35. Worth 5% to 10% gain in MPG.
  8. Excess weight
Pack light and clean out your trunk. Every 200 pounds of unnecessary weight shaves one mile per gallon off your gas mileage. You would be surprised how much stuff most people carry around in their trunks that they aren’t using.
  9. Minimize Idling.
Idling any longer than a minute wastes gas and one minute of idling uses more fuel than restarting your engine. When possible avoid drive-thru's. Idling for as little as 10 minutes while you sit in line can waste 5 or 6 miles worth of gas. Limit warm-ups to 30 seconds. Allowing your vehicle to idle excessively wastes gas.
  10. Plan and combine your trips.
Make a list and do all your grocery shopping once a week. Car pool, hike it, bike it or use public transportation if possible.
  11. Bonus - Use AMSOIL Fuel Additives - Check out both the AMSOIL Performance Improver for all gasoline engines and the Diesel Fuel Additives. These work and are concentrated so they cost as low as 45 cents per use. We have a lot of return customers because of these. Read more about these relating how they help reverse problems caused by ethanol. Beware that ethanol blends are tested and documented by the EPA to reduce gas mileage as much as 40%. (25% for E10 blends) Know the truth!
  12. Tell your friends. Forward this page along and stick it to the man.

Dealership Opportunities

AMSOIL Dealer Opportunities in 2007 provide you with the ultimate home business opportunity with 34 years of continuous growth to back it up, without the need for significant investment of money, mostly your time and your desire to succeed. To be a successful AMSOIL dealer expect to put in a lot of hard work. We will help you stay on course but you can become totally financially independent if you put in the effort, Call me or one of my dealers and we would love to discuss it with you.
AMSOIL manufacturers Synthetic Motor Oils. They are exclusively distributed by Independent Dealers - People like you and me. Synthetic oils are not refined from petroleum oils but are synthetically engineered from pure base materials so that only the desired “good” qualities are present in the oil. Petroleum oils have many undesirable qualities which is why they have to be changed on a more regular basis - At AMSOIL, we are best known for our motor oils that have the basic life of 25,000 miles or 1 year between changes, but these and our other products have more benefits which are much more impressive.
AMSOIL's highest demands are in both the diesel and powersports sector where we are now the product of choice in many venues. We urge you to print out our Dealer Sign-up Form and then read more in our Dealer Opportunities section.

Industry is pointing consumers our way from every direction:

  • Vehicle manufacturers are installing synthetic oil into new vehicles on the production line. AMSOIL makes for a better choice in older vehicles and vintage as well.
  • AMSOIL only uses 100% Synthetic base stocks rather than the trend of "full-synthetic" labeled products which are nothing more than re-arranged petroleum molecules to perform similar to a simple synthetic formulation (only in the US). AMSOIL's additive packages net performance increases and protection not available elsewhere. Thus AMSOIL has been proven the best for 35 years now and our competition agrees.
  • New emission systems demand oils, which can take more heat and leave fewer deposits. Currently diesel fuel changes has created problems which we have the best solution.
  • Customers want to spend more time doing what they enjoy rather than frequent visits to the oil change center.
  • They are demanding better lubrication qualities from the oil to improve fuel economy and engine cooling.
  • Commercial vehicles Require synthetics in transmission and drivetrain parts to retain extended warranties. (And better power transfer).
  • Environmentally we can not go on disposing of the millions of gallons of oil each year that is the bi-product of 3,000 mile oil change intervals - Imagine if everyone changed their oil at say 7,500 miles instead. The used oil disposal problem would be cut by 50%. Yes 50%, not just 1 or 2% - Now consider the impact of a 25,000 or 35,000 mile oil change interval.
  • AMSOIL allows you to do your part and significantly reduce dependence on foreign oil. American made oil and at the same time you use just a fraction of what you were lead to believe was necessary.
  • AMSOIL is changing the way people think!
