Resists Heat, Reduces Oil Consumption and Emissions

Applications

AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for use in gasoline engines, diesel engines (API CF, ACEA B5) and other applications requiring SAE 0W-30, 5W-30 or 10W-30 with the following worldwide specifications:

0W-30 (AZO): API SN (Resource Conserving), SM…; ILSAC GF-5, GF-4…; ACEA A5/B5, A1/B1; Ford WSS-M2C946-A, WSS-M2C929-A; Chrysler MS-6395N; Suitable as a replacement for GM dexos1™ (supersedes LL-A-025, 6094M and 4718M)

Mixing AMSOIL
AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 is compatible with conventional and synthetic motor oils. Mixing AMSOIL motor oils with other oils, however, will shorten the oil life expectancy and reduce the performance benefits. AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals where oils have been mixed.

Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with AMSOIL motor oils.

SERVICE LIFE

AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for extended drain intervals in unmodified(1), mechanically sound(2) gasoline fueled vehicles as follows:

• Normal Service(3) – Up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.
• Severe Service(4) – Up to 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first.
• Replace AMSOIL Ea oil filter at the time of oil change up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first (other brands at standard OEM* intervals).
• In all non-gasoline fueled vehicle applications, extend the oil change interval according to oil analysis or follow the OEM* drain interval.

*OEM - Original Equipment Manufacturer

(1) Engines operating under modified conditions are excluded from extended drain recommendations. Examples include the use of performance computer chips; non-OEM approved exhaust, fuel or air induction systems; and the use of fuels other than those recommended for normal operation by the manufacturer.

(2) Mechanically sound engines are in good working condition and do not, for example, leak oil or consume excessive amounts, are not worn out, do not overheat, do not leak anti-freeze and have properly working emission control systems. AMSOIL recommends repairing malfunctioning engines prior to the installation of AMSOIL synthetic oils.

(3) Personal vehicles frequently traveling greater than 10 miles (16km) at a time and not operating under severe service.

(4) Turbo or supercharged vehicles, commercial or fleet vehicles, extensive engine idling, first and subsequent use of AMSOIL in vehicles with over 100,000 miles, daily short trip driving less than 10 miles (16km), frequent towing, plowing, hauling or dusty condition driving.

AMSOIL Ea full-flow oil filters are designed for extended drain intervals. They stop smaller particles, flow more oil and last longer than regular filters. For best performance, use AMSOIL Ea full-flow oil filters.

"What?? You're trying to talk me into a 0W30 over my factory recommended 5W30? Why it's too thin! And it's not that cold in my climate!!"

The above is a typical and understandable response to our suggestion to upgrading to AMSOIL's best. But really our 0W30 is just a better performing oil for ALL applications.

But to better answer the concerns of the customer - the 0W30 isn't thin. The "W" or winter grade is a measure of cold cranking torque. Please read the following:

Winter (“W”) viscosity grades are determined using the Brookfield Cranking viscosity and Brookfield Pumping viscosity tests. The Brookfield Cranking viscosity test evaluates the amount of energy it takes to start an engine at a specified cold temperature; the lower
the winter grade, the lower the temperature at which the Cranking test is performed.

The Brookfield Pumping viscosity test evaluates the amount of energy it takes to pump an oil at a specified cold temperature; the lower the winter grade, the lower the temperature at which the
Pumping test is performed. For example, the 25W viscosity grade has the least rigorous temperature requirements for pumping viscosity (60,000 cP at -15°C) and the 0W grade has the most rigorous pumping viscosity requirement (60,000 cP at -40°C). Brookfield
Viscosity is measured in centipoise (cP).

In addition to the Kinematic viscosity requirement, each viscosity
classification (SAE 20, 30, 40, etc.) has a high-temperature/high-shear (HTHS) requirement. The HTHS test simulates an engine operating at high temperatures and load, to measure how well the oil maintains a lubricating film in severe service. The higher the viscosity grade, the higher the HTHS viscosity value.

DRIVEN BY EXCELLENCE

As A.J. Amatuzio neared the end of his 25-year career as an award-winning jet fighter pilot, he set his sights on a new challenge. Knowing that every jet engine in the world used only synthetic oil, he was convinced that the same type of technology would provide tremendous benefits to automotive engines. Amsoil AZO Signature Series 0W30 can be described as the ultimate product by the descriptions above but in our own use over the years this is the oil which the level of performance goes beyond what the intended purpose can describe. If I could sell this product on one point or one word I would say 'free' meaning on a stick shift car where you can feel the acceleration best, you will instantly take notice the improvement of the free revving nature and smoothness of the engine.
